Red Dwarf

Image
One of the most common stars and compared to other types of stars probably the least special looking stars in the universe are Red dwarves. These stars are small and very dim but don't let this fool you. They may be small and dim but they are one of the oldest objects in the universe. How old? Well one such star is thought to be about 13.5 billion years old, named "2MASS J18082002 5104378" and it is thought that it will survive much much longer even after our sun is gone. It is located just 2000 light years from earth inside our milky-way galaxy. The reason for this long life span is also due to their smaller size. Bigger stars go through their Hydrogen fuel much quickly and they go supernova once they run out of fuel in their core. Red dwarves however use their fuel at a very slow rate which is why they have such long life spans. That is why the planets orbiting such stars are one of the best candidates to find life because life will have a much longer time to evolve and...

Toli peer

Image
Panoramic view of Toli peer Kashmir is a beautiful place and Toli peer is just one example of it. Located just 30Km from Rawlakot Toli peer is one of the highest points in this region. There is also an old shrine at the top. Once you reach the top you can see the beautiful grass plains. In the winter this place is covered in snow and it is quite difficult to get there. The view from the top is breathtaking. You can see Abbaspur and Bagh from up there as well. Many people visit this place and pay their respects at the shrine. If you have the chance then this place is a must see.

Neutron stars

Image taken fron pixabay I can't imagine anything that is not fascinating in the cosmos. Whether it's an asteroid, a planet, a star, a star system, a galaxy or a group of galaxies it is always teaching us something new and that is exciting. Neutron stars are one of the most fascinating objects in the universe. The above image might just be an illustration but I'm sure that you have seen actual images as well. Where? you might ask, if you have seen images of nebulas then there is a good chance that you have seen a Neutron star because they are located at the center of many nebulas. Neutron stars are collapsed cores of massive stars that ran out of fuel. They are massive but not massive enough to become black holes. They are very dense and at the nuclear level they combine the electrons and protons into neutrons, hence the name. A neutron star can be many times the mass of the sun but just about the size of a city. That is why apart from black holes they are one of the denses...

Mushkpuri - Lalazar - Dunga Gali - Ayubia

Image
Panoramic view of  Mushkpuri Top Over the years I have traveled to Nathia Gali and its surrounding places many times. So I wanted to share the different experiences with anyone who has yet to go there. If anyone has not visited these places then I hope they will go there after reading this and seeing these pictures. About 80 km away from main Islamabad city you will first reach Dunga Gali. At first it just looks like one of the other galiyats but there is a beautiful 4 km long track from Dunga Gali to Ayubia. The track is straight so it is very easy to walk on, there is no serious hiking on this track but the view is very nice. Dunga Gali Ayubia Track In the winter it is difficult to reach these places but if you do get there it is amazing and the snow makes it look completely different. A view of Dunga Gali in winter Dunga Gali Ayubia track entrance in winter If you can walk to Ayubia then it is also nice otherwise you can drive there easily too. Ayubia is one of the most famous p...
